Intelligent Multipath Routing in Software Defined Networks Based on Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

At present a new generation network paradigm — software defined networks (SDN) has gained wide popularity to ensure the quality of service in computer networks. SDNs provide flexibility in managing data flows through a centralized view of the entire network and the ability to program network services. To ensure the quality of service of multimedia content and video traffic, the most effective mechanism is the use of multipath routing methods. An approach to intelligent multipath routing in the SDN based on the artificial bee colony algorithm is proposed in the paper. The conducted research shows that the application of the proposed approach makes it possible to increase the efficiency of multipath routing processes and the accuracy of determining routes in the SDN, as well as to reduce the transmission delay jitter in the network.
