Taxonomy the Level of Automation in Production

The article is devoted to a review of the problem of assessing the level of automation in foreign and domestic literature. The analysis of classification of automation tasks and comparative characteristics of some taxonomies, their similarity and difference are given. Give a range of standards and methods for determining the level of automation are compared with the classical scale of T. Sheridan and V. Veplanka, with a another type of estimation — the vector of priorities of the automation ratio. Discussed is the level of automation for process control systems, business processes, production preparation and etc. The principle of combining taxonomy with different classes of automation tasks and further research with the purpose of optimizing the level of automation depending on the cost and other indicators of production are considered. The possibility of further research in formalizing various production processes and taking into account the level of autonomy of dynamic systems.
Keywords: level of automation, LOA, ratio of automation, degree of automation, taxonomy of automation, taxonomy of T. Sheridan and V. Veplank, taxonomy of autonomy
