Various documentation types accompanying the software and the documentation life cycle are considered in the article. The documentation tool requirements are described for different document types. The documentation systems of two state-of-the-art types — CMS and Wiki — are considered, the usage cost estimation for standalone and hosted versions ofthese systems are compared in the article.
