Jaw Crusher with a High Crushing Ratio

Jaw crushers with simple movement of the movable cheek are the most optimum design for maximum crushing pressure at relatively low loads on the basic units of the crusher. Thus, no vertical component of movement when movable jaw crushing material significantly increases the time of crushing work as compared with other crushers. The basis of these advantages inherent use of the operating principle of the lever. It is thanks to the advantages mentioned crusher of this type are used in the mining industry for over 150 years without significant changes in their structures.
But crusher of this type have a major drawback: the low degree of fragmentation within 4...5. The author of this article examines this disadvantage as one of the unused capacity jaw crusher and crusher offers improved design having crushing ratio of about 25.

Research of the Causes and Ways to Reduce Dynamic Loads During Unloading Hydraulic Prop Shoring

Now often on mines Kuzbass the mechanized clearing complexes of foreign production are used. Them demands operation import spare parts. Hydraulic racks and their control systems refuse difficult conditions. Therefore it is necessary to define causes of failures of hydraulic racks and their control systems, and to find options of replacement of import accessories by domestic accessories. As a result of researches at the experimental stand it is established that when unloading a hydraulic rack its import one-stage hydraulic lock creates a water hammer in a hydraulic rack and system of its management. Parameters of throws of pressure at a water hammer are registered. The account characteristic of the one-stage hydraulic import lock is received. It passes liquids several times less, than the domestic two-level hydraulic lock. Influence of an expense on pressure amplitude size at hydroblow is defined. Thus throws of pressure exceed admissible sizes. Therefore use of import one-stage hydraulic locks, for hydraulic racks of big diameter, causes in them a water hammer. For protection against a water hammer, it is necessary to use the domestic two-level hydraulic lock. It will also allow to provide replacement of import accessories by domestic accessories.

Comparing the Optimal Parameters of Electromagnets Alternating Current

Alternating current electromagnets are widely used as a driving electric apparatuses, including use in mining electrical equipment. The most common are the electromagnets with P and W-shaped yoke, and a flat, P and W-shaped anchor. When designing a new range of electric equipment optimum constructive form of an electromagnet is a very urgent task.
The basic parameters for optimum weight and power consumption of the AC electromagnets 4 constructs. When designing a predetermined static thrust characteristics W-shaped electromagnets are in the 12...30 % less weight value and 5...7 % less power values than the electromagnets are U-shaped type. It is noted that a flat armature electromagnets have the worse performance than the electromagnets with the P and W-shaped anchors.
The dependences of weight, power consumption to mouth curled-heating mode, aspect ratio of electromagnets armor, P- and W-shaped type of magnetic induction in the gap, traction permissible winding temperature, and other parameters. These dependencies are recommended at the stage of technical and conceptual design, as well as for the selection of the initial values of these parameters for optimization calculations.

The Creation and Study of New Crowns for Drilling the Compensation of Wells in Hard Rocks

The depth of the blasting cycle is a key indicator when conducting drilling and blasting operations. The use of a parallel cut, in contrast to the wedge, allows to increase the depth of blasting and therefore, the rate of use of borehole. A distinctive feature of these roots is the presence of non-chargeable (compensation) boreholes and wells that are drilled with special drill bits. The use of compensation boreholes and wells provide the ability increase the power of the explosion on every single hole, thus reducing the total number of drilled holes in the tunneling bottom hole and to reduce the amount of explosives, rounds of ammunition the militants, copper wires when charging the face. However, the drilling instrument for forming the compensation boreholes and wells are far from perfect. Adaptation of Powered Roof Support Section to Improve the Mechanical Characteristics of the Hydraulic Drive of her Legs

The analysis of the mechanical characteristics of the sections of powered roof supports and control process of the resistance of their legs to the lowering of roof rocks. A method of increasing the static adaptation of the shield supports to updated rocks pressure and reduced dynamic loading of the shields and rocks of the immediate roof, resulting from time-sequential actuations of the safety valve during the formation of the regime of "equal resistance". The proposed mechanical characterization of the props of powered roof support sections function overload protection function is separated from management of rocks pressure, regulation of the resistance legs of the shield supports the lowering of roof rocks is nonpulse method, and the relocation of sections of the lining can be carried out in "without unloading" mode. The result is a reduction of the static "marking" rocks of the immediate roof, increase the adaptability of static shield supports to updated rocks pressure, thus, in the mode of management of rocks pressure are excluded dynamic effects on roof support the immediate roof. The protection of the shields overload into a separate function, that is, the safety valve is triggered only when an overload of supports and participates in the formation of the process of management of rock pressure.
Nonpulse method of regulation allows the regulated flow of the working fluid with a small pressure drop from the piston cavities of the leg cylinder in the pressure line of the hydraulic mechanized complex treatment and subsequent beneficial use.

Combined Energy Application for Mining Enterprises Power Supply

Necessity of mining enterprises efficient power supply appears with increase in industrial production. New sites are often located in remote regions, such as beyond the Polar circle or eastern Syberia, where no connection to the centralized power grid can be made and at the same time need in formidable amount of heat energy exists. The only solution in these conditions is autonomous power sources, like diesel power plants. In order to increase the efficiency of power units, cogeneration mode of operation is advised, along with the implementation of steam turbine driven by the heat of diesel plant flue gases. Depending on the consumer load charts generated heat is either used directly for heating purposes or is utilized in steam generation unit with low-boiling working medium. Energy-Efficient Resonant Mode of Electromechanical Systems of Bodies Cutting Mining Machines Based on Modern Governance Structures

The mathematical model of variable frequency drive, adapted for the study of energy-efficient resonant modes of the electro-mechanical system of bodies cutting mining machine. Energy efficiency is achieved through the rational law of motion of the body of the cutting with a dynamic process of cutting with a reciprocating rotary motion trajectory of the coordinates of the velocity in the contact area of the cutting tool with the mountain. This process can be achieved by resonant modes in Electromechanical systems. It is advisable to use an external disturbing effects. When the frequency of the oscillations of the external disturbance to the natural frequency of the Electromechanical oscillation system is achieved resonant mode of operation. The management system should provide the setting to the resonant frequency and to limit the amplitude of the forced oscillations of the current and the speed of the motor. As a regulator controlled resonant mode of operation of the proposed PID controller. Analytical studies by the mathematical model allowed us to obtain the dependence of the frequencies of the Electromechanical system and the dynamic factor of the motor current (the amplitude of the current oscillation) from the parameters of the controller. Analysis of analytical dependences showed that tuning to the resonant frequency is achieved due to the differential part of the PID controller. Limiting the amplitude of forced oscillations of the current possible proportional or integral parts of the regulator.

The Interaction of Drillhole Cleaning System Components Operating on Frozen Massifs in Excessively Humid Conditions with Suggested Methods for Calculating Certain Operational Parameters

A need has been identified for improvement in the cleaning of drillholes as well as the normalization of the methods for achieving this. The mechanisms and interaction patterns between auger and pneumatic systems while drilling in frozen massif ore bodies have been established. Analytical variables have been defined that establish the required productivity, the proper loading of explosives as well as the energy intensity required to effectively flush drillholes. These prevent the disruption of drill cuttings removal from the tubular opening of the drillhole and thus obstructs the thawing of the drill cuttings into a slime. The effect of various factors affecting the operation of drilling equipment operating in frozen multi-structured massifs of heightened moisture content are reviewed.
The effect of various design and technical factors influencing drill rig outputs in extreme conditions of Northern open pits is analysed. A method of calculating the optimal settings for drilling metrics with the goal of reaching maximum productivity for drilling equipment resources.
The interdependencies between required compressor productivity and operating condensed air pressures that are required for the effective removal of drill cuttings from drillholes during cleaning with consideration of unique mining-geological settings in massifs, mineralogical and granular structure, moisture content as well as rock mass temperature are identified.
A structured and functional system for the selection and maintenance of optimal modes of drillhole penetration in complex, phased massif structures is suggested.
Usage principals for auger pneumatic systems in the flushing of drill cuttings from drillholes as well as the mechanism of its element interaction and usage practicalities are examined.
The conclusions reached allow for the specification of software for control of blasthole drilling taking into consideration individual massif formation as well as the individual properties and temperature settings of ore bodies to provide a significant increase in the effectivity of drilling work in Northern open pits.

Railway Transport of Mining Enterprises: Ways of Efficiency Improvement

The authors carried out analysis of rolling of wheeled vehicles from the point of view of the possible increase in the rail tractive effort and gradability.
It was found that the rail tractive effort and, respectively, the gradability of railway transport can be increased significantly due to the increase in the friction coefficient (coefficient of traction) in the contact pair "wheel—rail", when wheels are manufactured from materials having high friction coefficient working in pair with a steel rail and using pairs of wheels with independent rotation of wheels.

To the Method of Calculating the Critical Rotational Speed of the Main Ventilation Fan Rotor

The method of the rotor critical speed calculation is demonstrated. The calculations was made by the example of VO-21 fan. The design diagram of this machine consist of fan — intermediate shaft with coupling — motor. The assumption, which simplify the calculations and do not cause the noticeable error, is justified. There is shown the influence of bearing flexibility and gyroscopic moment caused with impeller the frequency of bending natural oscillations of the rotor during back and forward precession. The research was conducted with finite element method in ANSYS.
Two design diagram was developed: the one with beam elements and another with volume elements. Analysis of results show good convergence. Determination of critical speeds was conducted with Campbell diagrams, which was made for two cases — with flexible and rigid bearings. The received critical speeds was compared with calculation where gyroscopic moment and flexible of bearings are ignored. The importance of taking account of gyroscopic moment was established when the flexible of bearing is also considered, because it affect the frequency and the mode shape. It is shown that the flexible of the supports reduces the bending of the shaft. It decreases the inclination angle of the impeller relative to the line of poles, and it affects the magnitude of the gyroscopic moment.

A Method of Synchronizing of a Large Number of Cylinders

There are different methods of synchronization of hydraulic cylinders. The way, that you chose, depends on the amount of cylinders, which you want to synchronize. The main idea of this article was to analyze an existing method of synchronization and find more appropriate for using in mining machines. This system should provide a high level of synchronization of the whole system of the machine because it would be used for more than one hundred hydraulic cylinders. Each method, which is described in this article, has its own error. For mining machines we have to find a method with the smallest error and which can be used in different situations and temperature. We offered the way for minimizing the error of synchronization of a large number of cylinders because in case of an error of the system more than 5 % you can get destructions of hydraulic and conveying system of the whole machine.
